NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
LAMOTH Thanks our Volunteers, Docents and Survivor Speakers

LAMOTH is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers, docents, and Survivor speakers that work each day to help make the Museum a place of learning and remembrance. During National Volunteer Week we want to recognize all of the amazing people who dedicate their time, wisdom, and dedication to fulfill the founding Survivors' mission to educate and to commemorate.

Kevin McGarry, Director of Student Tours and Teacher Training shares, "LAMOTH's volunteers are entrusted with the difficult but immensely important task of providing a deeper understanding of the nuances of Holocaust history. Our volunteers carry this responsibility with unparalleled grace and compassion. Their work here not only honors the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, but also empowers younger generations to strive for a world filled with respect, peace and understanding. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers for all that you do!"

Ilana Zadok, Harkham Hillel history teacher and Special Program Coordinator, shared that "Through partnership programs between Harkham Hillel and Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LAMOTH) over the last four years, Harkham Hillel students have had the opportunity to engage deeply with Holocaust education and remembrance and build relationships with Holocaust Survivors in our community."

L'Dough V'Dough With Pressman Academy

LAMOTH staff and Holocaust Survivors, including Yona Nadelman (above) traveled to Pressman Academy for a L'Dough V'Dough following their 8th grade class trip to the Museum. One student reflected, "It was amazing to see so many strong, kind, and motivating people in one room. It was truly an honor to be able to make challah with you, because it is such a beloved tradition to share together, and listening to the stories of all of your resilient lives made the experience unforgettable."
