BCSD Reduces Water Consumption

Blaine County School District has significantly reduced water consumption for school grounds and playing fields by using central control irrigation systems to monitor and manage water use.

Energy Savings Adds Up
Curious about electricity, gas and carbon savings from the recent energy retrofits at Bellevue Elementary, Carey School, Community Campus, Hailey Elementary, Silver Creek and Wood River High School?  Check out the Energy Savings Dashboard or click here to see reports  for each school.  In order to view the interactive dashboard, you will need to install Microsoft's Silverlight program and you may need to disable any pop-up blockers.  For tech help, call 578-5410.

Peachjar Saves Paper and Trees

Do you like the sound of saving  411,630  pieces of paper and almost 50 trees? Welcome to Peachjar.  The district's e-flyer system was implemented in October, 2014. Rather than sending paper flyers through the schools, nonprofit organizations upload digital flyers and send them directly to parents through email.  The flyers are stored on the school websites for easy reference.  Look for Peachjar flyers
in your email every Friday.

WATER Club Hands Out Bags and Examine Trash
On Earth Day, look for WRHS WATER Club students handing out reusable bags at Atkinsons and Albertson's after school.  On Wednesday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. students will present a project called, "What can we learn about our lifestyle through our trash?" Students have completed multiple highway clean-ups and are now using what they collected to build a gallery of photos along with information and research on trash.  WATER Club Advisor Erika Greenberg states, "The photos will represent what students found in our trash and how it relates to our life- style in our community.  This will definitely be something to see!"
