NEWSLETTER

April 16, 2016

From the President...

MIC will join with the Austell Community Task Force to present our biennial Candidates Forum on Thursday, May 5th at 6:30pm at the South Cobb Community Center located at 620 Lions Club Drive in Mableton. The invited candidates are those for countywide offices such as County Commission Chairman, Sheriff, and State and Superior Court Judges as well as candidates who are seeking office in the Mableton and Austell areas such as State Representatives, State Senators and District 4 County Commissioner.

Plan to attend! This is a great chance to meet the folks who want to represent you in the Legislature and on the County Commission.  Along with the judges and other countywide office holders, these are the people who make decisions that affect all of us. Our right to vote is precious and information about the candidates is critical to casting an informed ballot!

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Candidates Forum or otherwise. I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Joel Cope

MIC's Adopt-A-Mile on Floyd Road
Saturday, April 30th at 9am
Our next Adopt-a-Mile cleanup event will be Saturday, April 30th, weather permitting, starting promptly at 9am. We will meet in the Kroger Shopping Center parking lot area adjacent to the Autobell Car Wash on Floyd Road.

With the first phase of the Floyd Road improvement project complete with the added medians, it's a bigger job than before, so your help will be greatly appreciated.

With your help, it takes only about an hour for MIC volunteers to pick up the accumulated trash and it's an hour well spent! Floyd Road will look a whole lot better when we are done. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring gloves if you like. We provide latex gloves, safety vests, trash bags, bottled water and a warm welcome.

Many thanks to Linda Hoynes of Autobell for hosting the last several after-event activities.  Linda has moved to a new assignment in the Atlanta area and we wish her all the best.

Please contact Dave McDaniel if you plan to participate or if you have any questions/concerns.  If we know you're coming, we'll keep you posted in case of inclement weather
