LETTER
FROM  PRINCIPAL
SABLESKI

Good Morning,

On Monday we celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a person who dedicated his life to improving the world in which he lived and challenged all of us to do the same.  He is our nation's most famous champion of civil rights and equal economic opportunities for all Americans.  He preached about the importance of strong communities and peaceful resolution to conflict.  These facts are well known, but I recently learned that another pillar of his mission was service.  He believed that one important way to strengthen communities was to serve those around you.    I am proud of the fact that our students participate in thousands of hours of service each year.  Through these works, they demonstrate that service can accelerate progress towards equality in our school, our community, our nation, and our world.

Although not a service project specifically, we are excited to have nearly forty students heading to Washington D.C. this weekend for the annual March for Life.  This event represents the population in America that refuses to stand for the culture of death.  It represents the support and sacrifice of many who are dedicated to seeing the end of abortion in this nation. It represents, above all, the truth that every human has a right to a life that is protected.

Please take time this week to pray for our students, teachers, and parents who are attending the rally and youth conference in Washington, please pray for our nation's leaders who make and enforce our laws, please pray for all those who are facing difficult pregnancies, and please pray for the rights of all human beings regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, or age.

It's a great day to be a Patriot!

Matt

FEST
We invite you to support the Carroll St. Pat's Fest to be held March 11-12, 2016.  Friday evening will be the ever-popular Irish Fish Fry (adults only), followed by family fun on Saturday highlighting Irish Dancers, talented bands, delicious food, Celtic games, and more.  Our goal is to successfully bring together various groups at Carroll as well as create an entertaining event to the Greater Dayton area, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day!

Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Patriot Booster Club, and the  Carrolleer Band Association.   Money raised will positively impact the entire Carroll community--benefiting academics, the arts, athletics, and alumni.

We need your help!  Fill out the volunteer form on Carroll's website or contact Julie Weitz at jweitz@carrollhs.org if you would like to help.
