News from the Board
Are you interested in running for the Board of Trustees?

Pre-Candidate Workshop

The PASB Board of Trustees is elected by the parent community and works closely with the school administration in establishment of strategic direction for the school, holding the administration accountable for compliance with its policies and for generating desired results. Board members agree to give of their time - they may have children enrolled in the school, but recognize that they do not to serve in the capacity of any self-interest but instead in the name of the general PASB community. They do not receive any payment or benefits of any other kind.  The Board normally meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month, in the evening.  Additional committee meetings are normally expected, as are 2-3 Board retreats each year.  The Board itself may have additional meetings, if needed.

Date: Saturday, April 30, 2016
Time:  08:30am-12:00pm
Place: MPR (Music Room)

The Destination Imagination program at PASB for the 2015-2016 year is coming to a close very soon. The final moment of our creative year will be DI Creative Day #4 on Saturday, April 30th when we will hold our Starry Showcase Presentations. This year we had eight teams from across the elementary and middle school levels and they have been working hard on their Solution Presentations for their Team Challenges. We would like to invite all students and parents of the PASB community to attend and participate in this final moment in a celebration of creativity. There is no charge for attendance in this DI Creative Day, just bring your appreciation and be ready to be wowed by our students' amazing work. Don't miss your chance to learn more about the Destination Imagination program and process by missing this final event!

An additional Parent Workshop about DI scoring and tournaments will be offered on a different day, prior to April 30th, to be announced soon. Parents who wish to learn more about the DI program and/or who would like to attend this workshop should email Ms. Alison Gould, the PASB DI coordinator at  [email protected].

EducationUSA College Fair
We would like to thank all the colleges that visited our school this week  as part of an EducationUSA College Tour. Also, thank you to all parents and students who stopped by to get to know those colleges and ask questions to their representatives. Here are some pictures:

Secondary School News
  • Student Led Conferences (SLC's): Thank you to all of the parents who came in for Student Led Conferences.  We had an improved turnout this year and hope to further increase our numbers at future parent events. For those whose parents were not able to attend, all secondary students had a chance to present their work to a peer from a grade level above or below them. It was nice to see the students sharing their work and supporting one another in reflecting on their academic achievements.
  • Spirit Week: It was an exciting week with impressive participation across the grade levels in the various theme days and other activities. Thank you to the High School STUCO for putting the events together-these are excellent community building events that bring us together as a division.
  • ISSL Tournament: Best of luck to all of our athletes who will participate in the Season II ISSL Tournament! Do your best to represent PASB well in all of your matches in your athletic abilities, but more importantly, in your heart and sportsmanship. Go Panthers Go!
  • Tiradentes Holiday and PD Half Day: Due to the holiday next week, Thursday and Friday are non-instructional days. Wednesday is a half day as the afternoon will be dedicated to professional development activities for our teachers and staff.  The morning is an official school day and all students who are not attending the ISSL tournament are expected to be in attendance.
