Mark Mannifor of American Select Tubing wrote a business plan to start a handle business because he saw a void in the market.

He, along with his 44 employees, created the fastest tube mill in the world. Their unique value proposition is that they will produce lower quantities of handles because they have shortened the set-up time in between runs.
Jade Smith of Dau Consulting has a wealth of knowledge creating social media campaigns. She discussed creating a social media action plan, business Facebook Page and a personal Linkedin page to help the students promote their businesses.
Insurance was the lesson of the day and we had Brian Fogerty of State Farm Insurance answer questions that the students had regarding this important topic. He explained that take 700 factors to figure out your insurance rate. State Farm is preparing for the self driving cars and have really changed their business model in recent years.

Some of the students sold their products at the Charleston Chamber of Commerce's What Women Want Trade Show.
Jake and Jaz spoke at the Charleston Kiwanis.

Ready for the Toyota tour.
It was a great tour and we really learned so much. Mr. Toyoda, who changed the name of the company to Toyota for good luck, was known as the Albert Einstein of Japan.
