TMS Legacy Fund created to Recognize Donors
At the recommendation of a TMS Member, the Society's Administrative Committee Team has created guidelines to recognize the generosity of donors while creating resources for TMS to advance the knowledge of masonry for a sustainable world, through education, research, and practice. TMS's new Legacy Fund designations are available here, and TMS will so recognize donors in the future. As noted, donors may designate donations to one of the existing programs of TMS.
TMS Website Revisions Begin
A new website is currently being constructed for The Masonry Society that will allow easier use by browsers, additional features for members, and reduced workload on staff and volunteers. Currently the "Wireframes" for the site are being developed which provides the "structure" and a template for the website pages. Based on initial reviews, the new website appears clean, fresh, and intuitive. Unlike TMS's current website, which is not "Google-Compliant" the new website will be easy to use on computers, tablets, and smart phones - scaling as appropriate for these different platforms. Search engines, common logins, a more robust e-store, and a "MyTMS" page will enhance the usability of the website. A snap shot of one proposed homepage is shown below. If you care to review the current draft, please contact TMS Staff. If all goes well, the new website should debut by Thanksgiving, which will hopefully also be branded with a new TMS logo. If so, TMS hopes to process 2017 dues renewals with the new website.

Other Opportunities, Deadlines, and Events
Below are important reminders and events you may want to be aware of:
Masonry Education Survey Results/Report
Thanks to sponsorship from the NCMA Foundation, The Masonry Society recently completed a study of masonry educational resources used in universities and colleges in the United States and Canada. The findings from that study are published here. The purpose of this study was to gather current information and statistics on commonly used masonry educational resources, their strengths and weakness, and what type of additional resources are sought for education in the college and university setting. Based on results of the study, it is hoped that the masonry industry and TMS can develop a strategy to ensure that adequate resource are available to support masonry education at the college and university level.
2016 UPMW  Draws Educators from US & Canada

The 2016 University Professor's Masonry Workshop (UPMW), which was held on March 20-22 at the University of California, San Diego, was a great success, drawing 21 total attendees from across the United States and Canada. Dr. Benson Shing of UCSD served as Workshop Host, and a number of interesting topics were presented by speakers and attendees. Click here to read more about the UPMW.

The goal of the UPMW is simple: to assist professors teaching masonry so their students, who will be future designers and construction managers, are comfortable using masonry on their projects .
