We are thrilled with the positive response to this series. Thank you for your interest.

If you have RSVPed for the April 14th wine and cheese gathering, y ou may have heard that the location had been changed to Tifereth Israel Synagogue. Be assured, the location is indeed at the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center. We opted to be creative with space and stay with the original location.

Please check with your friends to make sure they know. Thank you.

While the April 14 wine and cheese gathering is full, you may still register for conversations that will occur in May, June and/or July. We appreciate your interest.

Dr. Geoffrey Hills, D.O., psychiatrist at Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center

Did you know cardiovascular disease can trigger depression? Counseling and medication can help. If you have experienced a cardiac event or diagnosis, you may wish to ask your doctor for a referral to a qualified mental health professional.

The Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center's in-house psychiatry team (see photos right) can work with your doctor to treat your cardiac-related depression. For more information on the Center's psychiatry services, call 515-274-4006 or email [email protected].

For more information on how heart disease and depression are linked, we'd like to pass along this article from the American Heart Assocation.
