We need your help! In an effort to document the progress made in South Carolina to increase healthy food access in low to moderate income communities, please let us know if you have funded, or received funding for such a project supporting either retail or farm enterprises. Examples of projects include (but are not limited to) developing and equipping grocery stores, small retailers, corner stores, farmers markets, and farm enterprises selling healthy food.
 
We ask that you p lease provide the following information:

  •   Total Project Cost
  •   # Jobs Created / Maintained
  •    Funding sources (% public, % private, % foundation)

The Midlands Farm Tours will raise consumer awareness of the local food-producing farms that exist in the Midlands. 50 volunteers are needed to check in guests, sell passes, and act as friendly ambassadors.  More Information

The SC Food Access Summit provides advocacy tools, training and action-oriented ideas to educate and organize participants to support local and state efforts to make the food system equitable for all.  More Information

 
Since 2004, we have provided 297 loans for $27.4 million in f inancing
that facilitated more than $221.6 million in community development projects; we
financed 1,291 housing units, 7 healthy food outlets, 9 community facilities, and 10
c ommunity businesses, creating or retaining 2,929 jobs and providing a safe,
affordable place to call home for 2,228 individuals and families.
