During this unit, your child will learn about six people who were changed by an encounter with God: Abram, Miriam, The Samaritan Woman, Zechariah, Peter and Saul.
Levels of Biblical Learning
You will notice that each age group studies the same Bible passage, but each has a different "Life Point." That is because each age group is capable of learning different things. We will refer to this as their "Level of Biblical Learning."
This Unit's Memory Verses
"If you love Me, you will keep My commands." John 14:15
"Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." Acts 16:31
Partnering with Parents
I'm sending this information to you so that 1) you will know what your child is learning on Sunday mornings and 2) you can reinforce this teaching in your own spiritual training with your children. Your child will also bring home a page called "One Conversation" that will have a synopsis of the Bible Story, a family activity, and Daily Bible readings.
Our church wants to partner with you as you lay a solid spiritual foundation for your child. Let's "synchronize" our efforts so that we will make the biggest impact!
Bible Skills
Double Oak's "Bible Skills Project" is for kids in Grades 1-5. It is designed to give parents tools to help their child learn how to use the Bible, and to help teach them what the Bible is all about. There are specific goals for each grade, and prizes will be given at the end of the school year to those kids who have completed their goals. Kids will work on the goals in Community Groups, on Wednesday nights, and at home. The children who complete their goals will receive a medal at our Family Worship Night on Sunday evening, April 24.
There are only a few weeks left to finish. You can download a checklist for your child HERE!
