NHRA team owner Bob Vandergriff has announced that he is shutting down Bob Vandergriff Racing, which has fielded two full-time NHRA Top Fuel teams for drivers Leah Pritchett and Dave Connolly this year.
Vandergriff has decided to retire from the sport entirely. The entire race team has been shut down and all employees, including Connolly and Pritchett, have been released from their duties.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will take racing back to its roots with heat races beginning with the first of four Dash 4 Cash events Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway.

A large field of drivers will battle for the win at one of the Pacific Challenge Series' home tracks when the series heads to All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif., on Saturday night.
The event will feature a 75- lap race on the one-third mile asphalt oval located on the Placer County Fairgrounds. It is the second race of the Pacific Challenge Series schedule after Jacob Gomes won the series opener at Madera Speedway in March.
