Forum on Preventing Gun Violence Set for April 14
On Thursday, April 14, Fullerton College will host A Time for Action: A Campus Forum on Preventing Gun Violence on College Campuses to create an opportunity for members of the campus community to discuss ways to prevent gun violence. It will culminate in a letter-writing campaign, with participants writing to elected officials to share their ideas about what can be done to make college campuses safer.

The CalWORKs and CARE programs are seeking donations for their annual Student-Parents Recognition Luncheon on Friday, May 13. Donations will be used to provide gift certificates to students within the programs.

Sustainability Workshop
NOCCCD is developing a campus sustainability plan and will host three workshops on April 29 to receive campus input. The workshop will consist of group activities to identify goals and work toward developing benchmarks for overall improvement in resource efficiency. Active-Shooter Drills Set for April 14
On Thursday, April 14, Fullerton College will participate in active-shooter emergency drills during the morning and evening. At 10 a.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. people on campus will be asked to lockdown, view an educational video on active-shooter situations, and then discuss preparation methods in their classrooms and offices.

The Sociology Club would like to thank the campus community for their generous sock donations for Pathways of Hope Homeless Shelter in Fullerton. The club collected well over 1,000 pairs of new socks for men, women and children!

American College Health Survey/National College Health Survey
Fullerton College Health Services is conducting the American College Health Association-National College Health Association Survey. This survey is conducted every three years and provides information used for student health support on campus. Faculty and staff are asked to participate in this data gathering effort by allowing students time to take the survey. The survey takes 45 minutes to one hour, and a trained health center staff person will come to class to conduct the survey. Participating faculty will receive two $5 gift cards from In-N-Out Burger to thank them for their effort. Email Susan Nilles at [email protected] to schedule a class ACHA-NCHA survey.

Student Art Exhibition: Call for Entries
The Fine Arts Department is accepting a
rtwork drop offs for the 2016 Student Art Exhibition. Entry forms are available in the Art Department Office. Students may enter four works of art with an entry fee of $5 per piece. Entry forms must be completely filled out and signed by student and instructor. Submit artwork to the Art Gallery, Room 1004 on Monday, April 11 from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday April, 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students may pick up unselected works on Thursday, April 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m.
This concert features three award-winning instrumental jazz combos performing written and improvised jazz ranging in style from Dixieland to fusion. The ensembles are directed by Mike Scott, Dr. Joe Jewell, and Bruce Babad.
The Fullerton College Symphony will present an evening of music from classical and pop genre. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for seniors and students.

Baseball
The Hornets fought through the wet weather on Saturday pulling off an 8-3 conference-win at Cypress College taking the three-game series. Shane Carrier blasted his ninth home run of the season to get it started in the fourth and the Hornets never looked back. Starting pitcher Louis Corral locked down his third win of the season going a strong 7.2 innings. He gave up six hits, two earned runs, and had two strikeouts.
Up Next: The Hornets (21-6, 9-3) will hit the road against Riverside City College this Tuesday, April 12. Game time is at 2 p.m.
Softball
The Hornets pulled off a fantastic 8-6 comeback-win at home against Santa Ana College last Friday. Down 6-4 heading into the sixth, Fullerton ripped off four unanswered runs for the much-needed Orange Empire Conference win. Starting pitcher Brigid Ruiz was solid on both sides of the plate earning her 21st win and hitting three triples in the game.
Up Next: The Hornets (21-13, 10-6) will play at Saddleback College on Wednesday, April 13. Game time is at 3 p.m.
Swim and Dive
The Hornets competed at the 16th Pasadena Invitational this past weekend with the FC women's team taking eighth place out of 22 teams, and the men's team placing 16th out of 20 teams.
Up Next: The Orange Empire Conference Championships will take place at Fullerton College April 21-23.
Women's Beach Volleyball
Fullerton split at an Orange Empire Conference three-way at Irvine Valley College on Friday. In their first match-up against Orange Coast, the Hornets managed a 4-1 victory over the Pirates. In the second match-up verse Irvine Valley, FC fell to the Lasers 4-1.
Up Next: The Hornets will play in a non-conference three-way against El Camino and Santa Barbara this Friday, April 15 at El Camino College. Games will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Women's Soccer: CCCSCA Award
The FC women's soccer team had seven players selected to the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA) Scholar-Athlete Team. The following Hornets were honored with the award: Elizabeth Alecxih, Crystal Foutris, Haylee Goering, Samantha Leatherman, Naysla Munoz, Amalia Serna, and Mallory Van Voorhis, Eligible student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and at least 24 semester units. Go Hornets!
Women's Soccer
Midfielder Naysla Munoz has signed with Ottawa University (Kansas) joining her Hornet teammate Johanna Moran who signed earlier this year. A sophomore known for her strong defensive skills, Munoz had one goal on the season, was a two-year starter for the Hornets, and was voted second team All-Orange Empire Conference.
