As we continue accepting nominations for the 2015 Athletes in Excellence award, we are excited to share the stories of our 2014 award recipients.

Candace Cable is a powerhouse in adaptive sport, both as an athlete and an advocate. Her story begins in her early 20s when she suffered a severe spinal injury. When she became acquainted with wheelchair racing, her life changed. Her self-esteem and social circles improved, and she found herself excelling at wheelchair racing.

Since that time Candace has devoted herself to spreading accessibility to sport for people with impairments. Read her story!

We are now accepting nominations for the 2015 Athletes in Excellence Award! Now through August 31, 2015, we want you to tell us about athletes who have been leaders on and off the field and are committed to upholding the values of fair play, sportsmanship, education, and drug-free competition in the world of sports. Each award recipient will receive a $10,000 unrestricted grant to further their community service efforts.

We recently had the opportunity to attend the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, and it was an incredible display of athletics and positive sport!

Our youth volunteer made another minidoc capturing the amazing experience. Watch the minidoc here.

This week was the one year mark until the opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio!

We are excited to count down the days and celebrate the Olympics with you!
