Welcome to the March-April issue of the  LFNY Alumni  newsletter. 

We have a very exciting event coming up: "Le Français Oui, But Why? on Saturday, April 16th You are all invited to attend this unique conference at the Lycée on the importance of French culture and language. We will be welcoming amazing panelists: among them will be Adam Gopnik, Rokhaya Diallo, and Patrick Weil. We hope to see you there!

Alumni Spotlight
Rough Cut Short Film Festival
FridayApril 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Rough Cut, the LFNY Short Film Festival, shows films written, directed, and edited solely by students outside of school or during the Cinema class. 

On April 15, a jury of faculty, LFNY alumni (Théo Le Sourd '14), students and film professionals will give out the awards for this year's edition.

Great Interview about Victor Soskice '41
Pierre Lurçat is writing a book on his father's cousin, Victor Soskice  (Class of 1941), who joined the OSS during World War II.

After coming to New York and visiting the Lycée in person, Pierre shares with us his incredible journey and his own research process... Read it all here!

French Play: "Le Bal"
Wednesday, April 13 from 7pm to 9pm in the auditorium
Thursday, April 14 from 7pm to 9pm in the auditorium
You are all invited to come to this year's French Play: "Le Bal" !

For this year's edition of the French Play, the students of l'Atelier théâtre will be performing "Le Bal", inspired by Ettore Scola's film. 

This play tells the history of France from 1936 to 2016 through the story of a bal populaireThere will be no dialogue--only dance and music. The play revolves around events that are a part of our history and of our collective memory. 

Free admission. No reservations needed.

Spring Fair Is Coming Up...

The Spring Fair is a wonderful community event that brings together the whole family for a day of fun. We rely on parent, faculty, staff and student volunteers to make it a success.
