NEWLY ANNOUNCED
Make & Take Felt Story: Wide-Mouthed Frog
Vesna Krcmar & Sandy Yip
April 26th
6:30pm - 8:30pm

Join us to make a felt story that you'll share over and over again with children.  From the swamp comes a frog with a wide mouth that he just loves to use. He's particularly interested in the eating habits of other creatures found in the great outdoors--that is, of course, until he comes upon a big green one with lots of teeth who finds wide-mouthed frogs simply delicious.

Care providers must bring a good pair of scissors to cut felt and
a large zip-lock bag to store felt.

Registration is now open.

'Immigration is a problem for parents', you might be thinking. What you should be thinking is, 'What can I do to help?'

Service providers can help to make the transition easier, as children often adapt to new scenarios more quickly than their parents. These articles can help you to familiarize yourselves with methods of helping parents and children successfully make the transition and cope with their new environment.

OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Keeping you updated
Dear Members,
Our office is frequently asked for the most up-to-date and factual information on current child care fees. By hosting a Fee Survey, we are able to gather information from you and provide the most accurate, and current, data on this subject to child care centres, ECEs, and parents alike. Without this information, we are unable to answer these requests and cannot provide updated facts for your benefit. Some relevant data regarding the past two Fee Surveys:

In 2013:
  • Approximately 240 active childcare facilities in Richmond
  • In response to the Fee Survey request, 78% of all centres responded, resulting in data from 187 sources
In 2016:
  • Currently over 300 active childcare facilities in Richmond, an increase of approximately 25% since 2013
  • In response to this year's Fee Survey request, we received feedback from less than 11% of centres and only 35 responses total
We depend on you to be able to provide adequate information to parents and centres, and cannot answer any of these incoming requests.  Help us by filling out the appropriate form for your centre and sending it in to our office no later than April 24th.
