Young artists and writers honored
March was a busy month for th e Fou ndation. We partnered with Hillsborough County Public Schools on March 10 to host the 2016 Hillsborough Region Scholastic Art & Writing Awards exhibit and reception at Blake High School. Category winners were submitted to the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers in New York, and six local students received the opportunity to move on to Carnegie Hall to compete on a national level. Special thanks to Presenting Sponsor Suncoast Credit Union, as well as the Lightning Foundation, which sponsored the reception.
HEF hosts Student Interview Day

HEF conducted its annual Interview Day on April 2. About 125 students in sixth through 10th grades from across the county came to the HEF office to interview for a Take Stock in Children college scholarship, generously donated by community partners. Scholarship recipients will sign their contracts at the end of the month. Special thanks to those who helped conduct interviews.
