The inaugural launch of our Athletes in Excellence Award last year surpassed our expectations and was a resounding success! It was both humbling and inspiring to hear the stories of so many incredible athletes who tirelessly give back to their communities and are leaders in the world of positive sport.

We are now accepting nominations for the 2015 Athletes in Excellence Award! Now through August 31, 2015, we want you to tell us about athletes who have been leaders on and off the field and are committed to upholding the values of fair play, sportsmanship, education, and drug-free competition in the world of sports. Each award recipient will receive a $10,000 unrestricted grant to further their community service efforts.

This spring we have committed over $500,000 in pledges to 26 domestic and international non-profit organizations. These groups focus on improving the lives of underserved youth through sports programming, health care, and educational initiatives.

Munich Memorial Mini-Documentary

Executive board members from GSD recently traveled to Munich, Germany to continue filming for the documentary "Munich '72 and Beyond" and to visit the site of the Munich Memorial Project.

During this visit, GSD youth volunteer, Kat Ulich, produced and directed a mini-documentary about the terrorist attack at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and the upcoming memorial.   We invite you to watch this short video here!
