Summer Evenings at Point Pleasant
Our Summer evening services at Point Pleasant have begun and continue through September 6. Singing begins at 5:15 p.m. and worship at 5:30. The facility will open at 3:00 p.m. for appropriate Lord's Day leisure activities for the family.
Catechism and Confession Year
The catechizing of children is the historic method that has been employed by Presbyterian churches for the instruction of covenant children since the time of the Reformation.  The catechism format is that of question and answer:
            Q.  What is the chief end of man?
            A.  Man's chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever;
This system committed to memory, covering the whole scheme of Christian theology, is the tested and proven means of transmitting the content of our faith to our children.
Beginning September 6th, during the Sunday School hour, we will be providing an intensive catechism class for 1st - 4th (Children's Catechism) and  5th  - 8th (Westminster Shorter Catechism) graders while our 9th - 12th graders will be taught the Westminster Confession of Faith. We encourage our children and their parents to enthusiastically join in this endeavor to learn the Catechisms and study the Confession in this coming year.
Parents of 5th - 12th graders, you are encouraged to attend the first class with your child in order to glean an understanding of what the curriculum will cover.

Peru Medical Mission 2015

The 2015 Peru Medical Mission trip is scheduled for September 11-18.  This mission trip is NOT only for those in the medical field but open to anyone who wishes to serve.  If you are interested in participating or knowing more about this opportunity, please contact Mr. Frankie Daniell soon at [email protected] or call him directly at 421-8118.
Sanctuary Work
Some of us noticed this week the lime green trucks and the caution tape around the steps of the Sanctuary. Due to a lightning strike mid-July, we had lost communication with our boiler that is utilized to maintain appropriate conditioning in the Sanctuary. This caused some unsightly growth on our ceiling. The work has been going on, since Monday, to remediate this alien from our Sanctuary ceiling. This growth will be removed and though some staining from this growth was done to the paint and may remain, the active spore count will not be any higher than we will find in another building and even outside. Our boiler is back up, our ability to regulate the conditioned space is back online and our gauges and data collectors are back to working. Our diaconate are working currently to collect quotes for repainting and in due time, we will have this work done. Thank you for your patience during this time and we apologize for any inconvenience this has done to your ability to participate in the regular program of our ministry.
