Spring Appeal

Don't you just love Spring? With all its buds and blooms and busy bees. You'll see from our newsletter the Foundation is getting in on the action. Check out our upcoming AfterWORDS events, and read about the new ways we celebrate the generosity of our donors and sponsors. We continue It's Time for Central fundraising, welcome three new board members, and announce our latest innovation fund grant. In May be sure to watch your mailbox for an engaging letter about the library from celebrated author Annie Barrows and then look for us at the Book Festival in June. Spring has arrived and with it hope for the many good things to come. Join me in giving thanks and enjoy these beautiful Berkeley days inside the library and out!

McCutcheon Construction

McCutcheon Construction was founded in 1980 with the vision of building healthier homes, beautiful homes that endure, and homes that matter to their owners, to the community, and to the environment.

Headquartered in Berkeley, the company continues to grow as one of the industry's leaders in sustainable home-building practices, and grow in its ability to respond to the deeper desires of its clients.

Jan and Michael McCutcheon have been deeply involved with the Berkeley community since matriculating to Cal in the late 1960s. Both are certified trainers of Transcendental Meditation, and both continue to be involved as leaders of the TM Center on Gilman Street in West Berkeley. In addition to growing one of the most successful residential construction companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jan and Michael continue to foster educational and arts organizations throughout the community including the Berkeley Public Library Foundation and as a season sponsor of the Berkeley Symphony.
