Headquartered in Berkeley, the company continues to grow as one of the industry's leaders in sustainable home-building practices, and grow in its ability to respond to the deeper desires of its clients.

Jan and Michael McCutcheon have been deeply involved with the Berkeley community since matriculating to Cal in the late 1960s. Both are certified trainers of Transcendental Meditation, and both continue to be involved as leaders of the TM Center on Gilman Street in West Berkeley. In addition to growing one of the most successful residential construction companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jan and Michael continue to foster educational and arts organizations throughout the community including the Berkeley Public Library Foundation and as a season sponsor of the Berkeley Symphony.

Berkeley's flagship Central Library is one of the most heavily used public libraries in the Bay area. It's been nearly 20 years since the upgrades and retrofit, so now it's time for some renewed attention to this beloved and historic community center. The Foundation ha s committed to providing $616,000 for improvements to the 1st and 2nd floors which include a dynamic new teen room, an updated reference room, a more welcoming entryway, and more!
