'Integrative Medicine' Comes To Memorial Healthcare System
Ashwin Mehta, MD, Named Medical Director for Integrative Medicine

A new program that aims to empower patients to take charge of their own health is now available at Memorial Healthcare System. Regardless of whether an individual's focus is on preventive wellness or symptom management during treatment for chronic conditions, Memorial's Division of Integrative Medicine, under the direction of Ashwin Mehta, MD, will incorporate a multi-disciplinary approach that is tailored to the individual and designed to strengthen the body's own healing potential.

Evidence-based care that includes acupuncture, massage, nutritional guidance, exercise recommendations, and therapeutic yoga will complement more traditional treatments and the leading-edge technologies at Memorial, to produce better patient outcomes. Sometimes called "lifestyle medicine," the treatment options are being utilized to aid those with cancer, heart disease, and chronic neurological conditions.

Dr. Ashwin Mehta, Medical Director for Integrative Medicine, is board certified in internal medicine and sleep medicine. He joined Memorial Healthcare System and Memorial Physician Group to launch the Memorial Division of Integrative Medicine. His medical expertise includes nutrition, exercise, sleep, yoga, and mindfulness, and he has developed innovative, client-centered wellness programs aimed to enhance quality of life throughout the spectrum of care.
