LARRY LIEBE, DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT

One of the Core Values of the WNM Ministries Network is TEAM BASED MINISTRY.

I know I have inabilities and limitations so I have leaned heavily on the team concept.  I believe it is biblical.  Jesus himself was not a lone ranger, but felt it important to work and fellowship with others.

Let me take a moment to share some of my thoughts as to why I believe this team concept is important.

CREATIVE IDEAS FOR FATHER'S DAY

I asked one of our pastors to share some of the creative ideas he has come up with for Father's Day at his church.  Some of these might work for you or send you on a creative path of your own.

Tips:
  • Connect an illustration in your message with a gift for all the fathers.
  • Dollar Tree is a good source.  Add some candy or nuts.
  • Be creative and make it meaningful.
Here are some that he has used:

THINK SPRING

It hardly seems possible that we are heading into spring.  In faith we believe the snow will be gone soon here in Waupaca.  I want to take this space this spring to remind our pastors and churches of some of the great resources that our teams here at the office and in Springfield have available to you for your church staff, board and ministry leadership teams.  There are resources for legal, ministries, training- a multitude of areas.
In addition to the following links, let me remind you that any of our Cabinet members (Larry Liebe, Gayland Hendrickson, Steve Tripp, Mark Kilcoyne, Bill Pimpo or myself) are available to come and meet with you and your leadership team to help with any area of ministry that you would want to discuss.  It is as simple as a phone call to the Network Office.
AG Financial Risk Management Live
30 minutes segments designed to inform and train your leadership in all areas of church life.  Pick and choose the ones that you need for the moment.
Kid's Ministry One year curriculum
This is complete curriculum for the small church supplied to you at no cost on a hard drive.  Mark Kilcoyne ( [email protected] ) will provide the drive and training for your leaders on how to use the materials.
AG Position Papers
We often receive questions concerning areas of church life that are not part of our bylaws and yet have substantial impact on the church.  Here is a link to the library of position papers that have been presented and authorized by the General Council.

  GAYLAND HENDRICKSON, MISSIONS DIRECTOR
  MARK KILCOYNE, DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRIES DIRECTOR
I n my first staff position in Chicago I learned a great lesson about the great team that we can be and should be.   I had just come to Chicago from Graduate school in Virginia.   But first let me give a little background.   I was saved as a teenager and raised in the Catholic church.  I often went to other churches and really liked First Assembly of God in Janesville.  When I was 18 I attended there most often and eventually became a member.   I went off to school and eventually graduated from Graduate school and entered into ministry.   The colleges I attended were not Assemblies of God and my knowledge of the Assemblies of God was not extensive.   I didn't have relatives in the Assemblies of God, the AG was my adopted church home.  So I was glad to come to my first church and be a part of the team.   We had a rather large staff and I felt great being a part of the team.   We worked hard and I served at that church for nearly 10 years.   It really was a good team.  However, we rarely attended sectional meetings as a team and I never attended a  District Council as a staff member.   It wasn't until we had a pastoral change that I realized what being a part of the larger team meant and what it could be.

Look Who Turned 70!
2016 Marks Spencer Lake's Platinum Anniversary!
This year we celebrate the 70th year of youth and family camps at Spencer Lake!  Since 1946 we have seen more than  325,000 guests  visit the campus.  The exponential impact of so many lives being touched by God at Spencer Lake across so many generations is mind boggling when you stop to consider it.  That, plus the awesome reality that  70% of our AG ministers and missionaries receive their call at camp,  underscores the critical missions Spencer Lake and Assembly Park have in building people and the body.
We look forward to seeing you this summer for Family Camp and youth and kids camps as we celebrate 70 years of spiritual legacy and thanksgiving for all those who have given of themselves to help make Spencer Lake one of the most outstanding camps in Wisconsin!                                                                                                                                              Read more..
Spencer Lake Summer Serve Program
We have opportunities for young people 18+ years old to spend their summer living at Sp encer Lake, earning money for college and being a part of the team that makes Spencer Lake work by participating in the Spencer Lake Summer Serve Program.  Participants will rotate around our operations teams, receive room/board plus weekly and monthly stipends as they work at the camp from June to mid-August.  Lake certified lifeguards are welcome as we put together a team to help at the beach this year!                                                Read more...

Best of the Best
On February 14 , the greatest athletes in the world got together to play a game in Toronto, Canada.  It was the NBA All-Star game and ended with the West beating the East by a score of 196-173.  The teams were made up of the best of the best.  Records were shattered as both teams scored at will.  As entertaining as this game was, there seemed to be something missing.  Obviously, defense was not the focal point of the evening.   These athletes had a limited amount of time to prepare and were only playing this one game together.  While this makes for an exciting weekend, it is not what real teams look like.  Real teams share a common mission.  Team members are willing to accept roles and make sacrifices for the greater good.  Desire drives teammates to push themselves and hold each other accountable.  In our network team-based ministries is one of our core values.  The Student Ministries department champions this.  We are on the same team with one desire:  to tell people the great news and make disciples.  Let's look at some of the benefits.
