Sunday Seminar
This Sunday, March 6th
, two members of the leadership team from the
Massachusetts
Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will be on hand for a presentation on Gun Violence Prevention. In addition they will describe
the BeSMART Campaign, which provides simple, immediate actions that everyone can take to keep everyone, especially children, safer.
Sunday Seminar meets in the Nichols Library (rear of the building), is open to all and nursery care is available. We gather at 8:45 am, begin at 9 am and are done in time to attend Sunday Service at 10:30 am.

MARCH 19- 9-12 NOON
In preparation for April 3 and other spring events, we are having a workday on
Saturday March 19, in the morning at least.
This can include grounds pick up and clean up, some small repairs inside, and some kitchen up keep so that well used room stays as functional as possible. The concept is allow a full week after this date to deal with other issues as they appear (and they always do).

It is that time of year again! It's time to order your Easter flowers.
This year we are offering: White Hydrangea. White Cyclamen, White Tulips, White Mums and White Lilies for $20.00/plant. You may order them in memory or honor of someone or something or for yourself or just because you'd enjoy participating!
You can pay through Paypal, or drop a check or cash off at the office. Your order is due: March 23. As always, thank you for your support!

Samba & other Ballroom Dances
Starting March 6th, Stathi Stratis is offering a free workshop on Samba and other Ballroom Dances on the First Sunday of every month. RSVPs are helpful so please register. Donations to benefit UUCM are welcome but not required. All skill levels are welcome and so are friends.

Greek Folk Dancing
If Samba isn't your cup of tea, or if you're game for more, come join Stathi Stratis on the Second Sunday of each month at 1 pm for Greek Folk dancing! The first lesson is on March 13th.
As with Stathi's Samba & Other Ballroom Dance workshop, there is no fee, but donations to UUCM are welcome.
This workshop is for everyone. No experience is needed and you are welcome to bring friends. Please do RSVP so Stathi may plan accordingly.

Newcomers (and recent-comers!) Gatherings
Do you have questions about Unitarian Universalism? Are you curious about our community? Would you like to meet our minister and others who are new today or in recent months? Join Rev. Wendy and other new and recent-comers at one or more of our monthly Newcomers Gatherings. Grab coffee and refreshments first and then head into the Minister's Study by the porch door. The gatherings are informal and you are welcome to attend for a few minutes or stay as long as the conversation continues.
Gatherings are 'first Sundays' ~ Mar 6, then Apr 3, May 1 & Jun 5th.

Ashe Namaste Yoga - Yoga will be on the fourth Sunday every month. Next class Sunday - March 27th!
What are daily practices that sustain us? Ashe Namaste Yoga offers yoga and movement which honors the divine in each of us. Yoga cultivates awareness through flexibility, spirituality, breath and brain. This supports a healthy lifestyle, wellness and equanimity. The last half hour of class integrates Umoja, the Dance of Abundance circle dance, integrating strength, flexibility and rhythm that will heighten a sense of wellness, vibrancy and interconnectedness. Share with others who are exploring new levels of awareness of Mind-Body-Spirit and stress reduction. This class is for everyone! Classes are 2:00-3:30 pm and $25 but a sliding scale ($5-$25) registration process is in place to accommodate financial restraints. We encourage anyone who is able to pay $25 to do so as Wyoma travels in from Dorchester and travel costs increase appropriately increase our cost to bring this wonderful program to our community. But our goal is many people attending so please do not let finances stand in the way. Take advantage of the sliding scale!
WYOMA is a certified yoga instructor from the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Centre in Montreal, Quebec. She has taught yoga for over 40 years and now blends a variety of classical yoga styles. She is also a holistic coach and creator of the African Healing Dance.

Wheel of Life
Frank G. Cagliuso, husband of Barbara Cagliuso (daughter of Robert J Stetson) died February 23rd. His celebration of life will be held Saturday March 5th at 1 pm in the sanctuary with a reception and band to follow.

~Wild Things Youth Group
Schedule ~
Fun: Plans are in the works for indoor skydiving, laser quest and white water rafting. On the books right now, however, is a trip in to see Blue Man Group on Sunday, March 20th at 2 pm. RSVPs are ESSENTIAL so please let Rev. Wendy know right away if you are going! We're planning on the 'poncho' seats so we need to do a Valentine's Day fundraiser to help defray costs! This is a chance to go and have some fun together and also be part of the conversation of 'what's next!'
Service: Youth Group cooks at Lifebridge every '2nd Friday' of the month. At least one adult arrives by 4:30 to review the meal plan. Youth arrive by 5 pm and are done by 7:15 pm. This is a chance to provide support to those in need, work together and also meet people who are part of our world community but living in very different circumstances.
Lifebridge Schedule = Mar 11, Apr 8, May 13 & June 10. 
Community: We have a sleepover every month at UUCM. We make individual pizzas, play games, do tattoos and other fun things! This is a chance to make friends you might not otherwise make due to location, grade, etc.
Sleepover Schedule = Mar 19, Apr 9, May 14 and June 18.

March 4 Christine Lavin and Don White
On Friday March 4 , the me and thee presents a co-bill featuring Christine Lavin and Don White, a very funny duo of comedy and song. Christine Lavin's smart and funny songs nail our lives and foibles on the head. She possesses a comedienne's arsenal of irony and a ton of delightfully skewered songs that cover a lot of territory. Don White stays right at home to mine comic gold. Coming from the world of standup comedy, he is a family man whose concerts can turn what happens at home into an onstage biopic. His funny and touching songs go straight to an audience's heart.
Next show: March 11: Grammy award nominated bluegrass band, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen who are holding their CD release party at our venue!

The Fifth Annual LGBT Elders in an Ever Changing World Conference
SALEM, MA.
The Fifth Annual LGBT Elders in an Ever Changing World conference is being held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Salem State University and is sponsored by The LGBT Aging Project, North Shore Elder Services, Salem State University's School of Social Work, CareDimensions, and AARP Massachusetts. This conference is a day-long event focusing on issues of older persons and caregivers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.
The key-note speaker is Rev. Irene Monroe, an award-winning writer, speaker and theologian. Ms Monroe is a nationally renowned African-American lesbian activist and will speak on spirituality, sexuality, racism and homophobia.
Cost:
$95 includes conference, breakfast, lunch and reception
$45 for seniors (60+) and students with current student ID
+$30 for 4.5 Social Work, Certified Case Manager, or Nursing CEUs

Camp Quinebarge
A UUA
-related traditional, boys and girls, overnight summer camp in Moultonborough, NH
Last summer Camp Quinebarge provided scholarships to more than 50 UU children from 26 UU churches across New England and the east coast.
This summer they are expanding the program to 100 UU campers on a first come, first served basis.
Camp Quinebarge runs for seven weeks from June 26-August 13, with two 2-week sessions and one 3-week session. Campers may also come for four and seven weeks. Quinebarge's regular rate is $1,200 per week with a two week minimum.
UU Camper Rate
- 1 Camper per Church - $600 per week (50% savings)
- 2 Campers per Church - $550 per week (54%)
- 4+ Campers per Church - $500 per week (58%)
