The Joke Corner

A sawmill worker dropped a quarter, bent over to pick it up, and accidentally got an ear cut off by the circular blade. His hollering drew a crowd of coworkers. Together, they started searching the sawdust for his severed ear.

After a minute one of the searchers came up with an ear and handed it to the injured man, He examined it carefully then tossed it away. "That ain't it," he said, resuming his probe. "My ear  has a pencil behind it."

A Chance to Improve You and Your Company...Don't Miss Out on These Seminars!

BMSA has two seminars planned next month and one in December. These seminars have received rave reviews from some of our members who attended them last year and this year is your chance to get a piece of the pie! Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities to learn ways you can better perform your job and improve your company!

November 10 - Management of Special Order Processing
At this seminar, you'll learn how to assure optimum profit with your special orders by following speaker Ken Wilbanks' approach of "tracking & systemizing" your special order processes.
Here's what one Ohio dealer who attended this program last year had to say:
"Tired of making less than acceptable returns on commodities?  Want to improve the return on your investment?  You cannot afford to miss Ken's seminar on the 'special order'!  He creates, step by step, a whole new mentality on how we treat 'special orders'.  I have attended this seminar before and will attend it again.  This time I'll bring my sales people.  This is the best, most applicable seminar you will ever attend!"
(Evan Jones, The Jones Lumber & Millwork Company, Columbus, OH)

November 11 & 12 - Yard & Delivery Managers Workshop
T his workshop provides best practices and powerful tools that will help managers improve operational efficiency and establish a culture of excellence in yard & delivery operations. Here's an opportunity for managers to learn how to improve material handling, reduce inventory losses, make more efficient deliveries and create a culture of excellence in one of the most visible areas to your customers!
Below is a comment from a BMSA dealer who previously attended this program:
"From the On-Time/In-Full to the Will-Call Programs and the General Leadership Training - this seminar was  very helpful to our business.  We brought back new ideas that we put in place and continue to find beneficial. I highly recommend it!"
(Thad Shuler, Southern Lumber & Millwork, Charleston, SC)

December 1 - Beat Last Year! Targeted Growth Essentials
This high impact workshop focuses participants on Attitudes, Skills, Actions and Overarching Strategies to win the sales game this year and every year. The class is geared for Pro Customer Sales Staff, Sales Managers, Buying Staff and Senior Executives who know that sales success begins and ends with their team's ability to SELL!
