Connect With Us

The past couple months have been some of the most eventful in PAALS history. After finally finishing renovations on our newly purchased building and a mere ten days after moving all the dogs into the facility, a devastating sewage flood made the entire facility contaminated and unusable. We have been working to fundraise to secure the necessary funds to restore the facility back to working condition. The community outreach and support has been overwhelming to us all, and every day our supporters have given us hope to keep going and to get back to serving those in need.
That being said, the recent flooding through our state hits exceedingly close to home for us. All the wonderful community members and volunteers that spent their time and money to get us back on our feet are now facing these very same problems of their own. Our deepest sympathy and empathy goes out to all those who lost loved ones in this tragedy, as well as to those who are struggling with not only the loss of their business but their homes and memories as well.  We, as a team, are committed to showing the community the same hope and strength they gave to us and are willing to do whatever necessary to get our community as a whole back on their feet.

Record Rainfall in South Carolina
Columbia and the Midlands Suffer Widespread Flooding

PAALS Pup Stanley at Flooded Foster Home
Many of our volunteers and fosters live on or near the Columbia rivers and creeks that were affected by the heavy rainfall. Here you can see our pup Stanley outside his foster's flooded home along the Saluda River. Thankfully all of our dogs were safe and sheltered by our wonderful fosters!

Flooding Aftermath Leaves Wreckage
Even as the flood waters are subsiding throughout the state, we will be left still with lots of clean up and rebuilding in the coming weeks. Many roads have been damaged and even those that appear to be safe may hide hidden dangers. Please be careful and abide by all police barricades and detours!

Quotation of the Month
"The best thing you could do is master the chaos in you. You are not thrown into the fire. You are the fire."
