A Message From The Chair TOP
Dear Members,

TTN's NYC's focus on transition issues was the impetus for starting our chapter some 10 years ago.  Over the years, we have initiated numerous programs, workshops and activities that support women in the throes of this challenging and exciting stage of life.

In this issue, you'll get sage advice on how to move forward, from a career coach who specializes in helping women move from one stage to another. And, you'll find a description of a new transition workshop launched by TTN National that is coming to New York City.

But what blew me away are the stories here from women who, although their experiences are diverse, have each benefited  greatly from being part of our amazing organization. They are firsthand, powerful accounts of our Chapter's impact on the lives of women in transition.

Enjoy the fall!
Warmest regards,
Eileen Kobrin

Here she oversaw a staff of 40 and dealt with everything from marketing to media relations to crisis management.

Now retired, Georgia has had to negotiate some very difficult challenges, including dealing with a progressive illness. She has transitioned with grace and purpose from one stage of her life to another. She believes that TTN is playing a significant role in her journey.  Read More

"Following Life's Threads through Transitions"
Susan Shilling

By the time their children were grown, Susan and her husband had left their New Jersey home for a one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan. Both were working for the Moody's investment firm in their final career moves. Then, just 18 months ago, Susan decided to begin her new transition to retirement.

"My husband is still working for Moody's, in a job that occasionally requires traveling," she explains.  "He was concerned about my approaching retirement, urging me to think about what I was going to do when I didn't have a job to go to."   Read More

WOMEN IN TRANSITION WORKSHOP -
Coming to New YorkWorkshop

Do you recall the "aha moment" when you first heard about The Transition Network?  Somewhere in that moment you recognized - if you hadn't already - that you  were in a transition of some sort yourself and that there were other women out there who were just like you. And you wanted to know how they were handling things.

To help meet that need, The Transition Network National developed a signature program, Women in Transition - a half day program for the woman who is in the process of exploring what's next for her.  Read More
