Morris Chapel Choir on the Move
Choir Trip - Bentwood Trail
PPAS' Morris Chapel Choir traveled to Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church in Dallas to lead a Mobile Youth Service on April 17. Our students led all aspects of worship, including serving as liturgists, ushers, and musicians.

Despite the rainy morning, visitors from several Presbyterian churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area joined us for worship. We give glory to God for providing opportunities for our young people to travel, to meet sisters and brothers in Christ across Texas, and to experience different worship settings. This is the third trip for the choir this year, with one more trip planned later this month to San Antonio.

A Weekend of Celebration
Celebration Weekend All PPAS teens enjoyed a weekend of faith and community-building during the annual Celebration weekend held March 11-12. Connected to Presbyterian Cursillo and Pilgrimage, Celebration is a retreat for youth designed to bring participants closer to God. Each year, student leaders from the Campus Ministry Council plan and conduct this event.

The weekend is filled with a variety of games, ice breakers, talks about faith, skits, singing, worship, prayer, times of sharing, and many expressions of God's love. At the conclusion of Celebration, all attendees receive encouraging letters from parents, family members, friends, other students, and staff.

Kudos to the adult and youth Campus Ministry Council members, and to Pastor Mary Rogers-Ellsworth, our Spiritual Life Director, for coordinating this amazing and uplifting event.

Science Fair Science Fair
The campus-wide Science Fair was held on Wednesday, April 13. Students worked in pairs to gain hands-on experience with scientific research.

Through these projects, students learned how to formulate clear ideas about the world and then tested their ideas through rigorous experimentation. Our goal in this process was to train students to understand how scientific progress moves forward and how to investigate their questions on their own instead of relying only on the opinions of others. Final results will be announced at the academic awards assembly on Friday, May 13.
Helping Hands, Joining Hearts
Planting project Mission is the heart of PPAS, and on March 14-16, we welcomed a group of youth and adults fro m Forest Hills Presbyterian Church (FHPC) in Helotes, Texas . They helped with our environmental restoration plan, and attended chapel and enjoyed recreation in the gym and dorms with Pan Am students.

When mission groups come to campus, it is a win/win situation for both the visitors and our PPAS community. Everyone's lives are enriched, and educational experiences are broadened, simply by engaging with one another intentionally. We are grateful to the FHPC volunteers for sacrificing part of their Spring Break vacation to spend time with us!

Friendly Competition
Friends Cup 1st Place
1st place "Friends Cup" Team

Soccer is by far the most popular game on campus. So, what better way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon than with friends on the soccer field? The senior class hosted the first-annual "Friends Cup" Soccer Tournament and a hamburger sale on April 2 to raise funds for their senior trip.

There were two divisions of competition. The Friends Cup was for teams that were randomly drawn, and the Ultimate Cup featured previously formed teams. The winning teams received trophies, and a great time was had by all!
We Love the Class of 2016!

Forty-seven seniors and 3 pre-university students will walk across the PPAS stage, say farewell, and enter the next journey in their lives. We thank God for and are proud of each one of them! The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2016 will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. in our new Harte Student Center.
