It's a bird, it's a plane, it's your chance to snag a free comic book! Stop by any SLCL branch on Saturday, May 7 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for Free Comic Book Day. We'll have a variety of comics for all ages. One per customer please, while supplies last.

SLCL's popular summer reading clubs will kick-off on May 23 and run through July 30. Last year over 59,000 people participated in the program, which offers fun activities and great prizes for the whole family. Calling all teenage rockers! SLCL is seeking contestants for the 7th Annual Battle of the Bands. Teen bands interested in participating should submit their best song for an online voting competition between May 23 and June 5. The three bands with the most votes, plus two critics' choice picks will perform at the Battle of the Bands on Saturday, July 9 at Library Headquarters. Read the

Adopt at Pet @ the Library
SLCL is teaming up with the APA to offer pet adoptions at select library branches this month. The Adoption Days will feature a variety of family-friendly animals ready to be adopted. Potential adopters will need to comply with APA guidelines, and an adoption fee will apply.
