In the Profession section, the second symposium, with guest editor Valerie Martinez-Ebers, explains the effects of institutional review boards (IRBs) on political science research and offers many practical tips for communicating with your own IRB. Committee on the Status of Women in the Profession
new website including featured columns:
Women of Color
This column features issue discussions relevant to women of color and intersectionality in the discipline. This first installment, written by column editor and committee member
Nadia Brown of Purdue University, highlights the professional influence of women of color and examines the impact of the career of
Dr. Dianne Pinderhughes, former APSA President (2007-08).
This is an advice column from Kristen Monroe, University of California, Irvine on professional issues of concern to political scientists, especially women and other minorities, as they try to combine their career with a personal life.
The column grew out of the Ad Hoc Committee on Workable Solutions to Advancing Women in the Profession, established by former APSA Presidents Carole Pateman (2011-12) and continued by Jane Mansbridge (2012-13), with support from the WCPS and the CSWP.

The QTD organizers would like to hear from you about the issues, tradeoffs, and practices related to qualitative research transparency that merit discussion as the deliberations unfold in the coming months.
