I am very excited to serve as the 2016 President of the Alabama CCIM Chapter. I follow a long line of dedicated professionals who set this Chapter on a course for success. My predecessor Andrew Patterson in particular has done a great deal to organize and standardize our policies and procedures as he rose through the Executive Committee to the Presidency in 2015. Thank you Andrew for your Leadership.
I recently attended the CCIM National meetings in Chicago where we pinned 5 new designees; David Cornelius, CCIM, Forrest and Fields, Dothan, Minyoung Kim, CCIM, Hodges Commercial Real Estate, Montgomery, Katy Lincoln, CCIM, CBRE Brokerage, Birmingham, Sloan Stevens CCIM, Cadence Bank, Birmingham, and Michael Wilson, CCIM, White-Spunner Realty, Mobile. Congratulations to all of you on successfully earning the Pin. You are now a member of an elite fraternity of professionals. Please take the opportunity to reach out to these individuals and welcome them into the CCIM family.

I have been to several of the national CCIM events in recent years and until you attend one for yourself you cannot appreciate the stature of the Alabama Chapter within the National CCIM Institute. Alabama is widely regarded as one of the most the most respected Chapters in the country and competes year in and year out with the likes of Texas, Florida and North Carolina as the top chapter in the Institute. We have past board members from our state serving on national committees, as Instructors and now on the National Board of Directors. It is very refreshing to attend a national event with representatives from all fifty states and have Alabama looked upon as a leader in such a distinguished professional organization. Under the Leadership of Andrew Patterson the Alabama CCIM Chapter was again awarded the Chapter of Excellence Award for 2015.
The CCIM Institute holds two major national meetings each year at which they conduct the business of the Institute, proctor the final exam and provide business development opportunities and deal making sessions for CCIM designees and candidates. We are very lucky to have the 2016 Fall Meetings in Atlanta on October 24-28, 2016. We will be providing more details in the coming months but we encourage you to plan on attending some or all of the events surrounding the fall meetings. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to make business connections from around the country and expand your personal network.
Finally, I encourage you to save the date of the upcoming events as we have a very busy spring and summer schedule. We will continue working to offer the very best networking, education and technology opportunities in the industry.
