2016 CalACT Spring Conference

FACT staff and several Board members attended California Association for  Coordinated Transportation's (CalACT) 2016 Spring Conference in La Jolla on March 28-31st. FACT was one of the host agencies and provided free hotel shuttle transportation for conference  attendees. Board Chair and County Supervisor Dave Roberts welcomed attendees during the Opening Session & Keynote event. FACT staff volunteered at the conference and provided registration desk support and session monitoring. 

Attendees had the opportunity to network and attend many interesting sessions on current industry issues including autonomous vehicles, changes in wheelchair securement, art of managing sub recipients, vehicle maintenance, transit marketing, mobility management & multimodal programs, and paratransit brokerages. FACT Executive Director Arun Prem was one of the speakers for the Paratransit Brokerages: Successes & Challenges session. 

FACT is a member of CalACT and Arun Prem represents Southern California on CalACT's Board. Several partner agencies including SANDAG, MTS, and Jewish Family Services also attended and supported the conference event.

2016 FACT Board Retreat 

FACT Board of Directors Retreat was held on March 24, 2016 at the San Diego County Administrative Center. The retreat provide the Board and staff the opportunity to review service growth and demand, expense and revenue projections, contracts and collaborations, the  updated  business plan, and organization priorities for the current fiscal year. Retreat guests included Brain Lane and Danielle Kochman (SANDAG), Tom Reeser (KOCT), and Cecilia Barandiaran (City of Oceanside). 
KOCT Journalist Roundtable 

On April 7, 2016 Board members Hon. Dave Roberts and Hon. John Aguilera participated in KOCT's Journalist Roundtable. John discussed FACT's innovative low cost transportation service that is used extensively by the senior population. FACT is the only agency providing senior transportation in all cities in San Diego County.

FACT Ridership FY 2015

During FY 2015 FACT provided 10,275 RideFACT trips and 14,528 contracted trips for a total of  24,803 one-way trips. 
Recent Additions to the FACT Team 

Aaron Aguire joined FACT as Accountant in September 2015.  He has earned a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from National University. 

Christian Hernandez joined FACT as Mobility Coordinator in May 2015.  He has several years of transportation experience including dispatching, routing, and customer service.

FACT Services

 

1.   Transportation referrals over the Phone:

FACT maintains a comprehensive database of transportation services operated by public transportation agencies, social services agencies, faith based organizations and specialized transportation services in San Diego County. FACT refers callers to transportation services based on individual needs. For transportation assistance please call 888-924-3228. 

 

2.   Web based information:

FACT maintains a web based database of transportation services in San Diego County which can be accessed directly by riders at www.factsd.org.

 

3.   RideFACT Transportation:

RideFACT is a senior dial a ride serving all cities in San Diego County as well as Ramona and Spring Valley areas. RideFACT provides general purpose transportation for seniors (60+). FACT procures transportation for RideFACT through a transportation brokerage. Reservations may be requested 1 to 7 days in advance of the travel date. Contact information for reservations, referrals or information: 888-924-3228. Please contact us during 9am - 4pm, Monday - Friday for a ride or information.

 

4.   Contracted Transportation Services:

FACT provides contracted transportation services for City of Oceanside, Poway Adult Day Health Care Center, First Transit, SDCOE, and ElderHelp. For any contracted service inquiries please contact us at 760-754-1252

Veterans Mobility Survey

 

SANDAG, in partnership with FACT and 2-1-1 San Diego, received a Veterans' Transportation and Community Living Initiative (VTCLI) grant to improve veterans' mobility and access to transportation in the San Diego region.

 

We are reaching out to you for help in completing and distributing a survey that will help assess transportation availability and community needs. Please complete the appropriate survey if you are a veteran or member of a military family or if you are a provider of military and veteran services. Or please forward the below links to appropriate parties that you may know.
