CoB Alumnus To Be Honored as BGS Entrepreneur of the Year: Apr. 20
Please join
JMU's Beta Gamma Sigma chapter at 7:00 pm in Showker G6 on Wed., Apr. 20, in honoring Eric Major as Beta Gamma Sigma International's Entrepreneur of the Year.
This award is the highest honor that BGS bestows upon a business professional.
Eric is a JMU alumnus, member of the College of Business Board of Advisors, and President, CEO, and Co-Founder of K2M, Inc., a rapidly growing global medical device company focused on developing innovative surgical solutions for the complex spinal pathologies.
After the award presentation, Eric will address the College as our C-Suite Speaker. A reception in the Showker lobby will follow.
Globally, Beta Gamma Sigma has 525 chapters in more than 20 countries. JMU's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma will induct its new members at 7:00 that evening, prior to the award presentation.

Summer Transfer Credit
A permission form to take courses for transfer credit must be completed prior to taking courses outside JMU. Students wishing to take courses at another school must submit a course syllabus and a permission form to the ASC (Showker 205). Please allow a few days for this process as faculty course coordinators must review it. The permission form may be found in the ASC office or here

Commencement - May 6, 2016
The University undergraduate ceremony will be held in Bridgeforth Stadium on Friday, May 6th at 3pm. The College of Business ceremony will be the same day beginning at 6pm in Bridgeforth Stadium. Students who are completing requirements in August are allowed to participate in May commencement. For more information, visit the Commencement page.
Graduating December 2017?
Students planning to graduate in December 2017 need to submit their graduation application to the ASC before they leave for the summer. Applications may be found in the ASC office and here.

Maymester Interdisciplinary Course:
Social Entrepreneurship and
Design for Social Impact
A four-week tech elective (CISE 498e, cross-listed as ENGR 498) will be offered this Maymester. The course, called "Social Entrepreneurship and Design for Social Impact," will cover topics from methods for problem seeking using design thinking to the nuts and bolts of starting an organization (e.g. nonprofit or for-profit B Corps) and developing compelling business models.
The course includes weekly local and regional field trips and guest lectures from experts who are change makers in their communities.

PSE's 2nd Annual Golf Outing

Hillendale Park
WHAT: Pi Sigma Epsilon's Second Annual Golf
Outing. Lunch on the golf course before
tournament start.
Entry fee for students is $55, $70 for adults and other guests.
Students, parents, and faculty are all welcome to attend and sign up! Proceeds will go to Our Community Place, a Harrisonburg charity.
