West Boca Medical Center CEO Earns 2016 Hero in Medicine Award
 
Mitch Feldman, CEO of West Boca Medical Center, is a proud recipient of the Palm Beach Medical Society's 2016 Heroes in Medicine Award. Feldman is specifically being honored as a "Bruce Rendina Professional Hero," which is awarded to non-physician healthcare professionals who have significantly impacted the community.
 
"Mitch is extremely deserving of this recognition as he is one of the most respected, influential healthcare leaders in Palm Beach County," said Marsha Powers, CEO of Tenet Healthcare's Florida region. "We applaud him for his passion, dedication and significant contributions over the past 20 years to the betterment of our patients."
 
Feldman will be recognized at the 13th annual Heroes in Medicine Awards luncheon on April 15 at the Kravis Center, Cohen Pavilion in West Palm Beach. At the event, one "Hero of the Year" will be announced for each of the nine Heroes in Medicine categories, along with four honorary awards.

Plaza Health Network Chief Clinical Officer Gets Dorothy Smith Leadership Award

Ann-Lynn Denker recognized for her work in nursing education, policy and advocacy
 
Plaza Health Network's Chief Clinical Officer, Ann-Lynn Denker, PhD, ARNP, has been named the 2015 recipient of the Dorothy Smith Leadership Award from the University of Florida's College of Nursing. The award is presented to alumni who demonstrate excellence in leadership for the nursing community.
 
Denker, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, was honored for more than 40 years of service and achievements as a nurse educator, researcher, nursing consultant and health policy expert. She spent more than three decades in a number of key positions at Jackson Health System, including clinical nurse specialist, assistant to the chair of the Public Health Trust and director of the Center for Nursing Excellence.
 
"Plaza Health Network is proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition for Ann-Lynn. She is an exceptional leader who has dedicated her life's work to advancing health care and the community around her," said Elaine Bloom, Plaza Health Network CEO and President.
Memorial Healthcare board selects Fernandez as CEO

Aurelio Fernandez 
The board governing the Memorial Healthcare System unanimously voted on Tuesday to name Aurelio Fernandez as President and CEO.
 
Currently the executive VP and COO, Fernandez became the interim CEO once Frank Sacco retired on Feb. 29 after leading the public health system for 28 years.
