With his time in the No. 14 Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup ride dependent on when the injured Tony Stewart returns to action, Brian Vickers continues to work a ride in the 100th Indianapolis 500 with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.
Vickers has been discussing an opportunity with team owner Sam Schmidt and other representatives of the Verizon IndyCar Series team but there appears to be a long way to go before it becomes a reality, if it even happens at all.

The Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas, which was originally scheduled to be held at zMAX Dragway, will now be held at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Sept. 2-3 on a new SuperCourse.
"We reviewed the original course layout and realized the elongated track might not provide every fan with an ideal view of these world-class riders," said Marcus Smith, Charlotte Motor Speedway president and general manager.

Roush Fenway Racing has announced the addition of Gray Gaulding to its developmental program.
Gaulding, who hails from Colonial Heights, Va., will make his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut behind the wheel of the No. 60 Ford Mustang in the Aug. 19 race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

As the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its trek through California, the series will make its annual stop at Calistoga Speedway for the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown on Saturday and Sunday.
