10:10 AM.
Please schedule your child's appointments so that he or she is back to school by 10:10 AM or leaves after 10:10 AM. We receive our funding based on attendance at this time. Funding allows us to provide more for your child!

A legislative aid from Senator Cornyn's office toured Energy last week with HISD Board Member Mike Lunceford. She was extremely impressed with the classrooms she visited and especially with our student presenters. Students asked great questions about educational policy and what it is like to work in Washington, DC.
The Energy Legends are gearing up for the 2nd Annual Restaurant Wars Expo! To launch their project, today they met with representatives from The Houston Food Bank who will serve as the subject matter experts for their final PBL of the year.

We will bring in experts to lead workshops in various topics related to the college application process including College Applications, FAFSA, The Money Guys, College Timeline, College Essay Writing, and Resume Building & College Recommendations. The evening's schedule will allow all families to attend four workshops. All families will attend the College Application session and the FAFSA session and then will select the topics for their remaining two workshops. Texas A&M Galveston Aquatic Science Trip |
This past Thursday aquatic science students were able to go to Texas A&M University at Galveston for a field trip. Once there, students were able to explore preserved aquatic specimen before gathering to get onto one of the many research vessels to travel into Galveston Bay. While setting out to gather samples in a trawl, students happily observed dolphins. In our catch students witnessed and held blue crabs, squid, sea robins, a sting ray, shrimp, and more!

We will be celebrating their acceptances this year with a "Signing Day" Thursday, April 14th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Important SAT Information |
The SAT will be administered on campus for all eleventh grade students Tuesday, April 12th. Mrs. Griggs, our Dean of Instruction, will be working with students in their English class to register for the testing date. If you have questions regarding the April administration of the SAT please contact Mrs. Griggs at [email protected].
SAT Preparation: Students were registered and enrolled in a free online SAT tutorial program offered by Khan Academy this past fall semester. The program is designed to support the new version of the SAT that will roll out this April. Students have access to this program and should be working their way through the tutorials in order to best prepare for the April SAT. Log in with your student tonight to see their progress! Students who earn 50,000 or more energy points on their Khan Academy practice account can apply for the "You Khan Do It Scholarship." Students can win a $500.00 scholarship.
