New Webinar Specifically for Educational Assistants

During the month of February, I presented my workshop Learning Disabilities and ADHD for Support Staff to many different groups and  one message became crystal clear. "We want more PD!" The EA's who participated in the workshops were passionate about the research, happy to learn strategies and committed to put them into practice.

While all of the Professional Development courses that Foothills Academy offers are open to Support Staff, we also understand the value and importance of PD designed specifically for this group. It is important not only for the specific content but also to create communities that celebrate and learn from one another how to best support our students.

As a result, we have created a new two-part Webinar entitled Looking Beyond the Behaviour: Motivating and Supporting Students with High Functioning ASD in the Classroom
designed specifically for Educational Assistants. Research supports that Learning Disabilities and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) do frequently co-occur. It is also estimated that up to half of children diagnosed with ASD also meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis.

I hope you enjoy this new webinar offering. I am always interested in hearing requests for other new topics of interest. You can contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Kim Tackaberry
