Community Bond Review Committee Meets to Consider Stadium Shell Space Build-out

Tonight, at the request of the Board of Trustees, the Community Bond Review Committee (CBRC) convened to consider the financial impact of building out the field house shell space for the second stadium that was included in the November 2014 bond.  The stadium with the shell space, as outlined in the November 2014 bond package, will cost approximately $58 million. The build-out of the shell space, which includes the parent drop-off area, maintenance building and exterior LED building lighting was not included in the bond package. The 2014 Bond Committee determined at that time that the shell space build-out project would be completed as funds became available.

However, due to savings realized from bond projects that came in below costs, the District is in the position to fund the $2.9 million shell space build-out project ahead of schedule through bond savings and/or the General Operating Fund.

The CBRC deliberated on this matter and other cost efficient options for addressing this project at tonight's meeting. The Committee will provide the Board of Trustees a recommendation on how to move forward with the field house shell space build-out project for the December 7, 2015 Board Work Study meeting.
