Eva Brettler

Eva Brettler, photo by Paul Ryan
When Nazi Germany invaded Hungary, Eva and her mother hid with false names until they were discovered by Hungarian authorities. They were deported to Ravensbruck Concentration Camp, and since she was only a child, dozens of women in the camp watched over her and protected her. Eva was liberated by British troops at Bergen-Belsen in 1945, and immigrated to the United States in 1957. Eva speaks and participates regularly with LAMOTH educational programs.

You can see artifacts reflecting Eva's experiences in our weekly Survivor Speaker micro-exhibit, located near the reception desk.

A docent-led tour of the Museum will immediately follow.
