This year, we are undertaking several new activities that will be launched April. You can now find family funds created to help others with Primary Immunodeficiency on our website. Families have chosen to create funds with us because they believe that we are not only a cost effective organization, but one with the hope and the heart to best help others in need. We are very proud to recognize: the Alastair Fund, the Brooklyn Peters Memorial Fund, the Ferrante Family's Julian's Journey Fund, the Henri McKinney Fund and Japreet's Art Scholarship. Last fall, with the help of several children, teens and parents, we started working on a very special project that will be launched during World PI Week, April 22-29, 2016. There was an amazing day where everyone came together for the same purpose. There was laughter and lots of hugs and new friendships made. You can catch glimpses of this project on our social media leading up to the official media launch coming April 23, 2016.
Immunodeficiency Canada's website now has a new permanent memorial, A Celebration of Lives, to recognize the individual lives lost with Primary Immunodeficiency. We are honoured to have your loved one submitted for inclusion. Each individual's experience with Primary Immunodeficiency has challenged physicians to strive for new answers and furthered research. This celebration of lives recognizes the silent contribution they have made.

Maritime Newborn Screening Program for SCID starts March 21, 2016
All newborns in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island will now be screened for SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency) along with 15 other disorders.

The PI Webcast Series, previously called PI Video Conference Series, created in 2008, has proven to be a highly valuable medium to discuss difficult cases among expert physicians across the country. Immunologists across Canada rotate hosting video presentations in which two complex cases are presented and discussed virtually. The video conferences are a self-accredited event by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, for 1.5 hours per seminar. You can attend by using one of the Network Sites or Affiliated Members, or observe through webcasting.

Immunodeficiency Canada Satellite Symposium - 3rd SCID Symposium held at the Annual Scientific Meeting, CSACI in Vancouver was a great success. The symposium focused on providing the best educational experience for the primary immunodeficiency community. The main objectives were to provide current information about diagnosis, treatment and management in primary immunodeficiency.

SCID symposium for making it a success. Special thanks to our keynote speaker Dr. Talal Chatila from Harvard University for giving an informative talk on LRBA deficiency.

Funding Opportunities
Canadian Rare Diseases Models and Mechanisms (RDMM) - Catalyst Grant
A maximum of $25,000 will be awarded for each Catalyst grant. Model organism investigators are expected to provide evidence that they/their lab is set up to do the work proposed in a timely fashion. Where the budget for the proposed work exceeds the Catalyst grant of $25,000, applicants are required to describe what work the Catalyst grant funds will cover and how additional funds will be garnered.

2015 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon
The annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon was on October 18, 2015 and the Immunodeficiency Canada team was out in full force. With a team of 19 people, everyone was bundled up for a brisk run in 2 different distances (the 5k and the half marathon). High spirits and great cheering crowds motivated everyone to the finish line.
For our fundraising, we exceeded our fundraising goal by raising over $11,000. 100% of the donations raised will be used for patient support, education and research into a cure, in thanks to our corporate sponsorship which covers administration costs.
Thank you to everyone one that supported the team and helped us reach new heights. Lastly, thank you Scotiabank for hosting another wonderful event. See everyone in 2016!

2015 Yelp Event
On November 12, 2015, Immunodeficiency Canada was honoured to be invited to the Yelp's MatriPHONY Masquerade event at the Château Le Jardin in Vaughan by Gina Ferrante. This event brought together amazing food served by local businesses and show-stopping entertainment. Live performances from ballerinas and an aerialist wowed the guests. Guests came adorned in their best wedding attire for a night of fun and excitement.
The Immunodeficiency Canada team was on hand that night, helping collect donations for Julian's Journey. Julian's Journey one of Immunodeficiency Canada's family funds. The fund was created by the Ferrante Family in honour of Julian, a healthy and brave boy who was treated at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children for his Primary Immunodeficiency.
Thanks to Yelp and Gina Ferrante, Julian's Journey raised over $1000. The donations will help and support others that has primary immunodeficiency.

2015 GivingTuesday
On December 1, 2015, Immunodeficiency Canada participated in GivingTuesday for the second year in a row.
GivingTuesday is a movement that celebrates giving back after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It encourages bigger, better, and smarter charitable giving during the holiday season, showing that the world truly gives as good as it gets.
Thank you for all the support in helping us have a successful campaign that lasted till the end of the year and raising funds that will make a different in many lives. This year the donations raised were given to helping families receive grants that helped them with medical expenses for 1 month.

2016 Ciao Bella
On the evening of February 6, 2016, Ciao Bella Dance Studio hosted a Casino Night at the Da Vinci Banquet Hall. The annual Black Tie event brought together the Italian community in Woodbridge for a night of amazing food, world class entertainment, casino games and live music. Woven masterfully together by Dana Vena, the owner of Ciao Bella Dance Studio, the night started with a wonderful meal, with a live band entertaining. World Salsa Champion Raymond and Jenalyn dazzled the crowd with 2 amazing routines, including a hip-hop routine involving trendy hoverboards.
After dinner, guests indulged in casino games, dancing, getting photo ops at the photo booth and getting their fortune told by professional astrologer Ilina Ivana Trowles. There was no shortage of entertainment.
Alongside the events of the night, there was a silent auction and a raffle for prizes generously donated by local business professionals and companies.
Thank you to Dana Vena and her team at the Ciao Bella Dance Studio for their continuous support in what we do.

Our Social Workers Network gathered information about resources for individuals and families affected by PI, based on what province they call home. So far, our website has resource packages for the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.
