Take The Lead kicked off spring with THE COLLIE CLUB OF AMERICA mega-event in Louisville, KY.
Thanks to the industrious creativity of Butch Schulman and his fabulous committee, the FIRST TTL PARENT CLUB EVENT was a huge success!
Sales of Millionaire's Row dinner tickets and related merchandise were brisk before the weekend, but Butch had lots more clever ideas up his sleeve.
During the day on Saturday, a group of gorgeous, fancy-hatted ladies sold chances on a Run For The Rosé. It was a noontime event where bets were placed on which of a number of good-natured handlers could navigate an agility course without spilling a tray full of wine glasses - luckily for most of them - filled with water, not wine!
Carissa DeMilta Shimpeno was the big winner along with Mari-Beth O'Neill who bet on her, but scroll down for some hilarious pictures of the fun.
There was also a CORK PULL raffle for cases of wine.
The MILLIONAIRE'S ROW party was absolutely spectacular. For an evening, we could all imagine what it's like to be among the privileged few, stationed above the infield at Churchill Downs. As you can see by the photos, the Collie people put on a first class event. The room was gorgeous and the fabulous food was catered by Philip Koenig of The Silver Spoon.
No detail was left to chance, from the welcome Mint Juleps to the vast silent auction and fun live auction spiced up by TTL's own JEFF PEPPER who served as auctioneer.
Thanks, too, to TTL's Mary Miller who coordinated the event. Other TTL worker bees included: Tim Catterson, Mari-Beth O'Neill, Cindy Vogels and Gay Dunlap.
It was innovative and fun. Many, many thanks to Butch and The Collie Club of America for thinking out of the box and thinking of Take The Lead.
