This should reach your inbox by Friday giving you a heads up for the  upcoming  week. We hope this helps you plan your week, and maybe even provides a little inspiration to get you through it! Be sure to "Like" us on Facebook  to stay in the know between emails.

A Message from the Dean...
He Called me by Name!
Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni!"-John 20:16
Ronald Reagan started it. And every president since then has included it in the State of the Union address. What am I talking about?
President Reagan was the first U.S. President to bring a person as his guest and introduce that person in his State of the Union address as a personal illustration of something he was talking about in that address to the nation.
It was masterful, and it caught the attention of the nation, to illustrate that the reality of
governmental policies touches individuals' lives.
In our Gospel reading today, Mary has failed to recognize the resurrected Jesus. She thought he was the gardener, that is, until Jesus called her by name. Then her eyes were opened, and all that he had taught her over the past three years became real to her.
Until we know that Jesus does actually know us by name, and that he loves us more than anyone else does, then all we do in the spiritual realm will be simply religious exercises. He wants each of us-he wants you-to hear him say your name in love. Right here. Right now. The resurrected Jesus. It's not just a noble idea, or a powerful metaphor. It is the reality of the divine love, embodied in the person of Jesus that is deeper than all the brokenness, hurts, sin, and disappointments of this life.
Blessings
