Employment Scams
Every day, job seekers become unfortunate victims of employment scams.  Their vulnerability makes them an easy target for scammers.
   
If It's Too Good to be True, It's Probably a Scam

 The scammers typically approach the job seeker via email, after finding their resume on an open source  job board.   They will request that you fill out a legitimate looking "job application" that will require date of birth,  SIN, and possibly your banking info.

The scammers will ask you to send a scanned copy of your driver's license "with sensitive information severed out," to ensure you they are a real company..

Phone interviews are another way for the scammers to ask you questions and obtain more intelligence to steal your identity.
Be wary of offers of making $2000 a week while working from home, this would be a dream job for all of us.   Watch out for the "employer" who wants to hire you right away without an interview, or of any potential job offer that requires you to spend money or do bank transfers.
Still skeptical?  As scammers become more awa re of how to hide their fraudulent activities, the complexity of their approach will increase.   
 
Protect yourself while looking for employment by doing your due diligence, look at their email address, most legitimate companies have their company name associated to the email.
