Over one-third
of older adults in Georgia have sedentary lifestyles. So it's no surprise that Georgia's seniors rank near the bottom nationally in health indicators.
Our new Safe Routes for Seniors program seeks to change that.
To overcome barriers to walking, we'll help older adults identify hazards and successfully advocate for pedestrian-friendly changes in their communities.
We'll also help people create walking groups and provide incentives that encourage people to walk more.
We're grateful to Kaiser Permanente for making this program possible.
