NEW MOVES IN 2016
REACH A GREATER AUDIENCE...
Starting in April, the Artists' Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) will introduce an exciting new series of programs, gallery shows and studio art events, reaching out to an international community of teachers, students and patrons. 

At the heart of this new growth is 
Mountain Maid Workshops , a visiting
artist workshop program featuring internationally acclaimed art 
 instructors from around the globe! 

Mountain Maid Workshops is the love child of two long time best friends,
Amanda Paoletti &  Diana Fayt who met as students at the California College
of the Arts almost thirty years ago. Now neighbors in the Sierra Nevada Foothills,
they have forged a plan to share their love-of-making with the world, hosting  favorite artists' workshops, demonstrations, and retreats.

Potter,  Shannon Garson .

RESIDENT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMS SHOWCASE
ASiF's annual Student & Teacher Programs Showcase
will be featured in the center's main gallery, April 6 - 23.

For this exhibit, student and teacher artworks and a series of informative displays sharing course curriculums, processes, new mediums and techniques will be featured and celebrated at two  public  events...

ASiF GALLERY GOES SOLO ...
ASiF Gallery heads into new territory this spring as it opens the first in a series of solo exhibitions featuring established local and visiting artists.

Since it's beginnings in 2008, the gallery has become known for its thematic group shows, exhibiting as many as 60 artists at a time. 

ASIF'S First solo show will feature local artist  Betsy Lombard  and her current body of landscapes and abstracts in oil and watercolor.

Betsy's influences include American painters such as Selden Gile and Richard Diebenkorn and Russian and French expressionists, Marc Chagall and Wassily Kandinsky. Betsy's bold decisive brush strokes bring presence to her impassioned sense of color and light. Sensations of warm and cool spill from her works as trickling streams, sun soaked hills and long blue winter shadows.
