DID YOU KNOW? People experience hunger all year round and donations are needed more during the winter, spring, and summer to help feed the more than 300,000 people who are food insecure in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Here's a list of our annual drives. Want more information? Call 631 582 3663 and ask to speak with our Food Drive Manager.

February - The 5th Annual Legislative Pet Food Drive - all elected officials from NYS and County government are invited to assist Long Island Cares collect much needed pet food. Call your local representative to ask how they plan to participate in the event.
 
March & April- The Spring Food Drive - The spring is the perfect time for students of all ages (including universities and colleges) to get involved in donating what is important. Ask your school to host a spring drive and collect any or all of the following items: baby products, personal care items, school supplies,
 
May - September - The Annual HIA-LI Summer Food Drive - small businesses unite for the nation's largest food drive! More than 200 Long Island businesses partner with Long Island Cares to collect 10's of thousands of pounds of donations. Best part? It's a friendly contest with categories in most pounds collected from a single site, a multi-site, product donation, and monetary donation.
 
June, July and August - Going to a festival, fair, or concert? Better check to see if Long Island Cares will be there collecting donations. Look for our Harry Chapin Taxi Tent!
 
September - November - Annual Fall Food Drive in preparation for the holiday season
