Ostrich Festival Parade and Fun Run Applications now being accepted


(Chandler, AZ) - The Chandler Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Ostrich Festival weekend beginning with the Mayor's Fun Run and Health Fair and the Ostrich Festival Parade on Saturday, March 5th.  The community is encouraged to participate with runners/walkers, health fair booths or parade entries.  
 
Starting at 8 am on Saturday, March 5th, the 14th Annual Mayor's Fun Run will take place followed by the Ostrich Festival Parade. Both runners and walkers are welcome for the 5K event, and each participant 11 years of age and older receives a free shirt and a chance at an award for the top finishers. The registration cost is $20 until February 20, $25 until 6pm March 4th and $30 for day-of registers. Parking structures will be available on Boston Street east of Arizona Avenue. The Mayor's Fun Run is sponsored by Garmin International, PayPal and Dignity Health.  
 
A Health Fair will run from 6 am to noon on March 5 at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in downtown Chandler.  The Ostrich Festival mascot, Tutu, will be meeting and greeting during the events. Registration for the Parade and health fair ends February 17th. Email [email protected]  for more information. 
 
Following the run and award presentation ceremony, participants can relax alongside friends and family and watch the 28th Annual Ostrich Festival Parade. Starting at Ray Road and Arizona Avenue at 10am, the procession of floats, dignitaries, pageant winners, classic cars, bands, horses, dance teams and over one hundred other entries will make their way south to Chicago Street. Bring out the lawn chairs and blankets and make sure to grab a good seat! The Ostrich Festival Parade is presented by Thorobred Chevrolet.
