Athletics and Wellness
At Mount Union, you can participate in a wide variety of events and services that promote and support recreation and wellness:
  • Athletics: With 21 intercollegiate athletic teams, there is almost always a chance to step away from your studies and head out to support your fellow Purple Raiders (#GoMountGo). Did you know that this past week (April 4-10) was #D3Week? Here are some ways Mount Union recognized its student-athletes and celebrated their success within NCAA Division III athletics. Mount Union student-athletes also spent the week supporting the overall Mount Union community by attending a variety of campus events.
  • Intramurals: Mount Union Intramurals consists of a variety of competitive sports and activities throughout the year. Students, faculty, and staff can participate in healthy competition and overall well-being in an organized setting. Most of Mount Union's intramural sports are open, which means teams can be all men, all women, or co-ed. There are two ways to sign up for intramurals-paper sheets at the MAAC front desk or online registration using IM Leagues.
  • RaiderRobics: Are you looking for a fun way to stay active outside of sports teams or gym routines? Check out the RaiderRobics classes offered each semester!
  • MAAC: Within the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (the MAAC), you will find the McPherson Center for Health and Well Being, the Timken Physical Education Building, Hammond Natatorium, fitness center, auxiliary gymnasium and the Peterson Fieldhouse. You can start to use the MAAC as soon as you receive your PurplePlus card at Preview; be sure to have your card with you each time you visit. Regular hours are Monday-Thursday 6 a.m.-12 a.m.; Friday 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. There are also open swim hours during the year.
