About the 2015 International Children's Games Alkmaar, Netherlands

Team Oakland was invited to participate in the International Children's Games, and was one of 84 cities from six continents going to Alkmaar, Netherlands in June, 2015. More than 1,500 young athletes from all over the world took part in this event. The International Children's Games was created to convey messages of friendship and peace to the whole world, as well as the values of sport and the Olympic spirit.

The International Children's Games is a hub of principles and dreams, such as: fair play; equality; respecting and accepting differences; friendship; fun and games; competition. Every participant becomes an ambassador of great values, as they represent not just themselves, but their cities and countries of origin. These Games give our youth an opportunity to meet children from around the world, and to experience new and diverse cultures. Such global exposure is an excellent leadership development resource for our youth. https://icg-alkmaar2015.com.
