T he Preservation of Rural Iowa Alliance
April 6, 2016 Legislative Update
Yesterday was a huge SUCCESS!
HF 2448 passed with bipartisan support.
A number of board members traveled to the capital to spend time talking with members of the House just prior to the vote.  It was clear that many legislators still had questions or concerns and we believe it was helpful to spend our time bringing important points to their attention.

We understand that there is still much work that needs to be done with the Senate but right now this is a time to remember how much we have accomplished.  This was our 3rd trip to the Capital and the first time any bill has made it out of committee and to the House floor for debate.  Thank you for the time many of you committed to making last minute phone calls and writing emails.  That effort was also very instrumental in the outcome.

Thank you very much!  We appreciate your continued support and work as we begin our intensive work with the Senate.

Look for emails, newsletters and postcards with updates and requests for your help to contact members of the Senate.

Thank you very much!!!
