It's April already and we have lots to share.
Visit our booth at the Egan Center Health & Wellness Expo, Sat/Sun, April 9/10, 10-5pm. Jade Lady practitioners will offer mini classes and performances around 3pm both days.

We were surprised at the Heart of Anchorage Awards to be nominated for the Dena'ina Award instead of the Ship Creek Award. So rather than being noticed as a new innovative business, we
were acknowledged for "outstanding leadership, professional excellence and contributions to Downtown Anchorage". How nice!

Any gardeners out there? We have raspberry bushes from last year but would like to do a mix of fruit, veggies and herbs. Your input in the planning process would be greatly appreciated.

We have four workshops this month. LaoShih Holly teaches Shamanic 5-Elements on Sat, April 9. Nicole Yvonne teaches a Serpentine Belly Dance Workshop on Sat, April 16, I teach Building a Meditation Tool Box on Sun, April 17 and Laura Lightfoot teaches a Spring Flow Workshop on Sun, April 17. Click side bar link to see the flyers. If you have questions, call or email us: 907-562-2863, [email protected].

4th Friday is Movie Nite. This month it's The Grandmaster,  based on the life of Bruce Lee's Wing Chun KungFu teacher. It's the fall of China's last dynasty, a time of chaos and war, and also the golden age of Chinese martial arts. Click side bar link for more info.

Master Zhongxian Wu will be teaching a couple workshops at the end of the month. He's in Palmer with our friends Jay & Jen during the day Fri, April 29, then holds a tea gathering in Anchorage that evening. May 1/2 he teaches two workshops. For enrollment info, contact LaoShih Holly at 907-229-7420.

Qigong Teacher Certification with DaoShima
This  course is designed for those who want to teach energy arts. It's based on a Qigong form, but the information is transferrable. Teaching these arts requires an understanding of what happens to people when energy blocks are released, and most important, how to deal with those instances. Sometimes reactions can go unnoticed and other times they are unexpected. However, if you are prepared for a range of reactions, you will be more confident in your teaching as well as any challenging situations.

It's important to be clear in your teaching, especially for adults, who always come with previous knowledge. Adults can get stuck on a word and tune you out, so allow for questions whenever possible. Don't worry about losing your train of thought, it will come back to you. It's more important to alleviate confusion when it occurs. Be ok with saying 'I don't know' or 'Let me think about that'. You do not need to be an expert to be a good teacher. Teaching comes from the heart, from the spirit.

This course gives you an opportunity to teach and receive feedback from other participants as well as previous graduates. This is a great crucible to hone your skills and become more in tune with your own internal energy.

We will meet weekends April 23-May 22. I'm offering 20 hours with 16 hours required, and you may attend my ongoing Qigong classes at no charge during the training.

Plum Blossom Boutique

We have solid wood tea tables available for sale. DaoShima actually spent hours sanding this special wood from Brazil. Jatoba has a beautiful grain that emerges with the application of beeswax and jojoba oil. And check out our collection of iron and ceramic teapots, with iron candle warmers to keep your tea at the right temperature for hours.

LaoShih Holly is crafting our Organic Beeswax candles, which burn three times longer than other candles. Some are scented with doTerra essential oils. We think you'll be impressed!

Did you know beeswax candles actually clean the air? Very healthy to burn.
A new selection of Koi teacups should be arriving any day now. Come and browse.
