Illinois Arts Council Agency Announces the Arts in Education Residency Program for Fiscal Year 2017
The guidelines for the  Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA)
Arts-in-Education (AIE) Residency Program  for FY17 are now available. The AIE Residency Program provides support for professional artists to provide hands-on learning in schools and communities statewide. The deadline is June 6, 2016.

The IACA recognizes the arts as a necessity in the development of Illinois students as future contributing members of society and the importance of the inclusion of the arts in lifelong learning. At the heart of the AIE Residency Program is the belief that an artist-in-residence can make an invaluable and unique contribution to the educational process. As a professional artist teaching and creating his or her art at the residency site, the artist-in-residence can inspire one classroom, one teacher, one school district, or one community to integrate the arts into its ongoing activities and become a vital part of everyone's learning experience.

Residencies are developed in cooperation with an Illinois teaching artist or performing arts company. Past grant recipients have included schools, colleges, community centers, youth organizations, senior centers, park districts, and libraries. FY17 projects must take place between November 1, 2015 and August 31, 2016.

A web-based workshop is scheduled for May 4, 2016 at 4 pm. This webinar will provide an overview of the application and review process. Registration is required .
